Mo(ve)ment to Mo(ve)ment: An Experiential Introduction to Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy™

2019 Date to be announced

Why avail of this opportunity for you?

Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy™ offers a dialogical and a radical phenomenological way of noticing and exploring early movement patterns that first emerge in the first few years of life that shape the way we live in the world as adults.

These fundamental movement patterns have psychological functions, which are ‘animating’ kinaesthetically in unique ways in the co-created therapeutic situation.

This workshop will offer you an opportunity to explore and develop a greater awareness of your own kinaesthetic bodily responses in your life and therapeutic practice as you experience some of the fundamental movement patterns. You will leave with a conceptual frame of the six fundamental movements and their psychological functioning that co-emerge in the therapeutic situation.

This will provide you with an alternative perspective of embodied relational practice as informed by Gestalt Therapy theory in Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy™. You will have a foundation that will support your work within the pre-reflective and implicit relational domains of your co-created therapeutic relationships, where therapeutic change occurs.
